Bull Liver, Monster Burgers, And Mighty Miracles

Opaaa! Tudo Bem everyone!! It feels like I wrote one of these emails yesterday, but oh well, can't complain, it's p-day again!      This week was so amazing! I saw so many miracles, and I'm finally starting to be able to contribute to these lessons!     I'm writing this one early this week because I literally have no clue what we're doing today. The language barrier is still real!      But I just read the Book of Mormon and I'm in the spiritual mood, so I'll start this off with a spiritual thought.       SPIRITUAL THOUGHT     Please read!! I'm praying these words can help at least one of you!     The other day, we met and taught a boy named Aleff. I have never seen the spirit so visually strong through anyone in my life. As we read a scripture to him, he folded his arms, closed his eyes, and concentrated on the Words of the Lord. Afterwards, he was so excited to accept our baptismal and even wanted to receiv...

Week Of Growth, Goats, And... Tons Of Food

Before I start this email... today is a very special day to me. Today marks three years since the passing of my older brother Brian. There hasn't been a day where I haven't thought about my brother. This one goes out to you Brian! Can't wait to see you again one day!  Okay so now that those emotions are aside, this week has been so hard (like always) but has also been a huge growth week for me in many ways! I feel like I'm finally able to converse with Brazilians and play my part in our lessons. My love for my companion and the work has grown so much too! This had been the first preparation day where I'm actually excited for the week ahead! Has the work gotten any easier? Absolutely not. But my spirit and attitude has, and that's what makes the difference. Yesterday we had interviews with our Mission President to access our physical, mental, and spiritual health. After I said the prayer to start the interview, my president, President Boone, paused and said, ...

What's up everyone! This week may have been the hardest week of my life! Literally. Very tough physically, very tough emotionally. We walked on average 10 miles a day, and so many of our appointments got canceled. It's so hard when you want to do so much good and bless people but they show no interest. And it's even harder when you walk 45 minutes to their door, and they don't even answer. There aren't too many highlights this week because it was just work, work, work but I got a few for you guys. Including the story about the title of this email hahaha. Highlights  - Like I said last week, we ate one meal a day. This week I put my foot down and bought some groceries for our house. By groceries I mean two loafs of bread, some cereal, and some oatmeal. So now for breakfast I'll have cereal. But the only problem is the cereal here is extremely stale. It's like bitting into pebbles with every bite. And for dinner I'll have two pieces of plane white bread. Q...

Brazil Is Crazier Than I Thought!!

What's up everyone! I hope each and every one of you is doing amazing! My week has been amazing but far from ordinary! I could literally write a novel about this week, but I don't have much time so I'll keep it to the usual: some highlights, pictures, and a spiritual thought.     Spiritual Thought     Please don't skip this! Last weekend we had general conference! General Conference happens twice a year and it's a televised conference where our prophet and apostles speak to us. We are literally hearing words directly from God from our prophets! It's truly amazing!      There were so many talks that I loved from conference, but the talk that stood out to me the most was Paul V. Johnson's. Johnson talked about the story of his grandson named Aaron who had a rare disease. The only cure from this disease would be a bone marrow transplant and only if they could find a perfect blood match from one of Aaron's siblings. Luckily they found one! Out of all of th...
