Thanksgiving Subway

Good morning everyone! I hope you all have had a fantastic week! It's only been like four days since my last email, so I'm gonna keep this one a bit shorter, but this week was super hectic, so let's get into it.  This was transfer week, so there was always something happening in the office. This made it super hard to get out an work unfortunately. But the few hours that we were able to get out and work were spent on helping our friend Tauan. Tauan has been going with his friends to church for a while now with all of his friends, and he is the last to be baptized. Throughout this whole process, his parents have been a great support in helping him get to church and prepare for baptism. Then all of a sudden, two days before the baptism, his parents totally flipped a switch and don't want him to be baptized anymore. This was super sad news, and Tauan was crying a bunch, but we're not going to give up on his dreams.  We had interviews this week with President, and he was...

One And A Half Weeks Of Work

Image
Good morning everyone! So I'm coming back at you guys on a Monday, because we decided to switched our pday for this week. Let's just say, a mission without pdays would be nearly impossible, I'm exhausted!  I'm not gonna lie, being in the office is a different type of exhaustion. My body is totally fine, and honestly my toes are better than ever. But this work is mentally draining. Having to switch your brain everyday from bills, reports, and reinbursments to faith, repentance, and baptism is a little difficult and a little draining. It feels like I'm constantly thinking about a million things at once.  On the other side, being in the office comes with a private chef. My companion is insane in the kitchen and is cooking us meals everyday. We get to the office, he gives me a couple of things to do, and he just spends the day in the kitchen. This week he made chicken alfredo, chili, and mango chicken.  This week, I focused a ton on improving my studies every morning. O...

Mission Got Flipped Upside-Down

Image
Wow, I had a crazy week, and the entire trajectory of my mission just changed! Let's get into in.  So it was zone conference, and our mission president decides to invite a police officer to come in and give a training on staying safe in the street. During the training, he asks everyone, "who here is working in the city Bayeux?" My companion, four others, and I raise our hands. He then talks about how a bunch of people are getting murdered there every day. This caught my attention a little bit, and definitely seemed to catch President's attention, because he closed a part of Bayeux and took two missionaries out of the area.  But this is when it gets crazy. Instead of just taking the two missionaries out and putting them in other areas, President creates a giant "mini-transfer" and moves a ton of people around. So that's about when I got the call from the assistants saying that I was being transferred in the morning, and I would be the next financial secre...

God Is Aware Of Us

Image
Not gonna lie, this was a pretty tough week. Really eventful, but also super difficult at the same time. It was probably one of my most dedicated weeks, but also one of the weeks with the least results. That's just how it goes sometimes. But let me tell you, I learned a ton. I think one of the biggest things that I learned is that God is aware of us and listens to our prayers. Even if He doesn't answer our prayers the way we want Him to answer them. On Saturday, I got to celebrate my birthday. So on friday night, I prayed to God begging Him to help me forget myself on my birthday. Let's just say He provided. Woke up on Saturday with those early morning birthday butterflies, ready for a good day. My companion then wakes up two hours later with a sore throat, migraine headache, and a cough. I spent the morning taking care of him. Then I thought that I would treat myself with some scrambled eggs for breakfast. Well, the second egg came out green and smelled terrible, so I thre...
