Back To The Hospital

Image
Good morning! This week has been a struggle not gonna lie. Last week was a whole lot of sickness and rain, but this week was even more sickness and even more rain. I spent Tuesday in the hospital with literally every symptom that you can think of. I thought that I was dying lol. Also two Americans in a Brazilian hospital isn't the best combination. After a million question that I didn't understand (just nod your head and smile), six tests, and two one hour naps on the testing chair, I got my diagnosis. Bronchitis and an intenstinal infection :) Took one day off, four medications, and now I'm back on my feet. Oh yeah, one thing that I learned here in Brazil is that when you're sick, they just load you up with every medicine until you start feeling better. I still don't have all of the strength back in my body which is a little concerning, but we'll get there.  SPIRITUAL THOUGHT You have 604,800 seconds every week. You can't use anymore and you can save any. A...

Toenails, Baptisms, And Miracles!

Good morning everyone! Wow, I don't even know where to get started this week! This week was tough, rewarding, and absolutely crazy! Let's get right into it! SPIRITUAL THOUGHT Saturday and Sunday, we had the opportunity to listen to General Conference (A giant broadcast where we can listen to the words of our prophets and apostles). It was so amazing! There were so many fantastic messages, but I'll talk about one that I really liked. Elder Corbitt gave the answer to one of the lifelong questions: "Why did Jesus have to die?" I have honestly thought about that question millions of times in my life. God has all of the poewr in the world, so why did He have to give up his Son to prepare a plan for us?  He starts off by bringing up two obstacles that we have in this life: physical death and spiritual death. Physical death is the separation of body and spirit after we die. Spiritual death is the separation of our spirits and God that we experienced when we came to Earth...

Rainy and Sick Easter Season

Image
Opa tudo bem!! I hope you all had the best week ever and you could eat lots of chocolate and jellybeans, and celebrate the ressurection of Jesus Christ for me! Something that I've come to know here in Brazil is it's just party party party. And because of this, literally every holiday loses it's significance. Literally no one mentioned Easter and everyone was just drunk on the streets. But it's okay, Christ died and was ressurected for them too. This week was also pretty hard physically. I'm currently fighting off two sickness, but this rain doesn't make that fight any easier. On top of that, after walking a week straight in flip flops, the arches of my feet are offially gone, and these new boots are absolutely killing me. But I guess that's just part of the mission. Let's get spiritual.  SPIRITUAL THOUGHT We celebrate Easter to remember the ressurection of our Savior Jesus Christ. But did you know that we will all be ressurected? Yes. Through the Savior...
