Change And Rejection Is Good

Image
What is up everyone?! How are you all doing? This week was a week of rejection, growth, productivity, and change. I realized that I only got one year left out here in Brazil, so something is going to need to change. Let's get into it.  Spiritual Thought (actually read it) This week, I studied about the known and unknown costs of discipleship. In other words, the things that we knowingly and unknowling give up when we choose to follow Christ. It was in this study where I learned the great difference between sacrifice and consecration.  Sacrifice is the lower law. It's when we sacrifice things that are known to us. For example, when I became a missionary, I knew that I would have to sacrifice time with my family and air conditioning. On the other hand, consecration is the higher law. It's sacrificing the things that are both known and unknown. When I started my mission, I didn't not know however that I would need to sacrifice my toe nails and my stomach health. If we are ...

Power Of Prayer (Week 52)

Hey what's up everyone! I saw a few really good miracles this week and had a few fun experiences, so let's get into it.  Reunited with the boy We did an exchange this week and I got put back up with one of my old companions, Elder Oliveira! I love Elder Oliveira and he is easily one of my favorite companions that I've had. He works in the office, so our exchange didn't start until way late, but we were determined to get the most out of it and mark everyone for baptism. I went to his area, we planned the day, and got on to the road. We taught a few people, marked about three for baptism, taught a member about the temples, and saw a really cool miracle. When we were walking from appointments, Elder Oliveira got the prompting that we needed to visit someone else that wasn't even on the schedule. We get there and immediately see the dad of the woman that we are visiting, on the ground, shaking and struggling to breath. He was having a seizure right before our eyes. We h...

1 Down, 1 To Go

What is up everyone! I hope y'all had a fantastic week! Today officially marks exactly one year since I was set apart as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! It's honestly so crazy to think about how far I've come, how much I've grown, how much I've learned, and how much weight I gained in just one year! I would be lying if I said that it wasn't the hardest yet most joyous year of my entire life! Every week is such a struggle and a blessing and I love it! This week was no different. We were extremely busy, worked our tails off, hit up the hospital, but in the end, saw the fruits of our labor. Let's talk about it.  drugged up Okay yeah, so Brazil tends to give you way more drugs and medications than you actually need. This week we decided to finally put these stomach problems to an end, so I decided to take an endoscopy test (the tube that gets stuck down your throat). This woman sprayed my throat, it went completely numb. Then sh...

Exhausted :) Week 51

What is up guys! This week had to be one of the most exhausting weeks on my mission thus far. It was so physically and mentally draining haha. We walked a ton, make too many contacts, and had to do two exchanges. With Elder Bradford, there literally isn't a pause in the work. And unfortunately, our baptism fell through and we have not seen the fruits that come from this labor. But God's just testing our faith and diligence, and we'll do better next week for sure. One Fruit But let's start off by talking about our one miracle from last week that continues to be a miracle. Tatiana! This week, we taught her about God's plan for us and about His temples, and she absolutely loved it! We invited her for baptism and it was honestly the happiest I've even seen someone get to be baptized! On Sunday, she was talking with all of the moms about what type of cake they're going to make for the baptism hahaha. Please pray for Tatiana.  Health Check Okay, so I haven't g...
