Eggs Are A Sin: Week 33?

Image
Another week has flown by here in Brazil and let's get into it. And honestly, this was one of the most normal weeks that I've had in a awhile, so this email shouldn't get too long.  SPIRITUAL THOUGHT This Saturday, we will have the unique opportunity to do something that only happens twice a year: Our phophet and his apostles are going to be speaking to us via internet!! I would just like to testify that just like the Bible had many many prophets, we have a prophet today who guides the church, receives revelation, and literally talks with God.  Don't miss out on this opportunity to watch our prophet speak and guide us! Here's the link to watch if you are interested: https://newsroom. churchofjesuschrist.org/event/ april-2023-general-conference? lang=eng Saturday: 12pm - 2pm and 4pm - 6pm est Sunday: 12pm - 2pm and 4pm - 6pm est HIGHLIGHTS - in my english class this week, I taught the Brazilians how to say a prayer in English. It was the most wholesome thing ever whe...

Three Near Death Experiences

What's up everyone! How's your week going? Wow, this transfer has been crazy so far! Let's just say having two americans together is super fun but super difficult. I've never been so mentally locked into to any like this in my life. I'm having to lead our plans, discussions, conversations, meetings and just about everything. Now I know the amount of stress that I put on my trainer lol.  - Mini Miracle: This week I've been getting way into my head. For example, Thursday morning we are suppose to set time aside to plan our week and month. Well, I got this feeling that we needed to visit a few people that morning and I made the decision to put off our planning to visit two people. And... they weren't home. I felt so dumb and also hungry because it was lunch time and we started walking to our lunch appointment. On the way to our lunch appointment we walk past this dude shoveling some dirt. In that moment, I had the strong feeling to talk to that dude, and for th...

Transfer News And Miracles

Image
Good morning everyone! Today is kinda crazy so I'm gonna keep this short. But we had transfers today and I'm staying here in Bayeux!! I love this area and am so excited to keep working with our members and friends here! Unfortunately, my companion, Elder Oliviera, got tranfered. Saddest news ever. But it's okay because now I'm serving with another American, Elder Peterson! This transfer is going to be a fun one! SPIRITUAL THOUGHT On Tuesday, we had a zone conference (big mission conference with a bunch of missionaries). At this conference, President gave a cool analogy that I liked.  President talked about the difference between diamonds and carborundum. Diamonds are these beautiful gems used for rings, necklaces, etc. Carborudum is used as a black silicon abrasive. But they're practically the same thing. Carbordums até just diamonds that didn't get enough heat and pressure, so they didn't become diamonds.  In our missions and lives in general, we all start ...

Batismo!

What's up everyone! Hope you're having a great day! I'm coming to you on a monday this week, because our p-day officiall y got moved to mondays! I know, it's crazy.  Also yet again, I have absolutely zero time to write this email this week. And I'm not just saying that. The schedule today is looking like: wake up at 6am, travel, play soccer from 7am - 10am, travel, eat lunch (we're making a barbeque today), get a haircut, play some more soccer, shower, and find time to call my family, email my mission president, and email all of y'all.  So for this email, I'm going to be covering two miracles that happened this weekend: the baptisms of Damião and Elisangela! 1) Damião has been going to church for months now. Many, many missionaries have tried to baptize him in the past with no success. When I arrived in the area, we felt prompted to invite him yet again and he accepted! Only problem... There were so many problems. But this man's faith was outstanding...

Class Is In Session (Week 28)

Good morning! Hope yall had a fantastic week! We're about to have a giant game a soccer so I don't have a ton of time to write this. SPIRITUAL THOUGHT  7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them. Here is a scripture to reflect on. God will never command you to do anything or give you any obstacle without preparing means whereby you can accomplish that thing! Amen. HIGHLIGHTS - So I've officially become the english teacher here in my area, Bayeux Alto. Every Wendesday, 6:30pm, I hold a class at the church and today will be the third class. We had about 20 people there last week and we're expecting a big showing this week. The only problem is, the english language just doesn't make any sense and I kinda forgot how to speak prop...
