Domino Champion

Good morning everyone! This week was a blessing, and we saw the hand of God in many ways! And we're about to go play some soccer, so let's get right into it. On Monday, we met Eduardo. Eduardo is a husband and dad of one kid. This kid has been in the hospital all week, and Eduardo is making hour long trips by foot, after a long day of work, to visit his son... everyday. He is a huge example to me! He was in a rush, so we made a quick contact and scheduled to meet back up with him the next day. Well the next day, on the way to his house, I decided to call him, just to give him a heads up before pulling up at his house. His wife answered and said that he was on the way to the hospital. So we scrapped that lesson, and went on to the next one. But guess who we met on the way, Eduardo! We were able to teach him about eternal families, and the spirit was so strong. We ended up finding his house, and now he and his family are progressing! We had our ward domino tournament this week, a...

Mission Tour 2024

Image
Hey so this week was a little stressful. We had our mission tour with a member of the seventy (Elder Valenzuela) this week, and nothing seemed to be going right.  Picture the scene: it's the night before the big conference, and we had about two hours to set things up. Our recent convert is shirtless and sweating, cleaning up the entire church single-handedly. The elders are testing out the microphones that just can't seem to stop staticing (if that's a word). I'm in sitting there with my toes in some warm salt water, trying to heal something that seems to be unhealable. It's getting hot, and we go to turn the AC on. It doesn't turn on. We were stressing. That was the ONE thing that President said needs to go right. We called two different maintenance teams, but they could show up until the morning. We didn't get too much sleep that night.  The next day, we got up extra early and rushed to the church, and everything a working! It was truly a miracle! A miracl...

Buying My First Cigarette

Wow this is one of my favorite and most blessed weeks on my mission! There were so many awesome moments where I just knew that God was watching over both me and all of His children in this area. Don't want to take up too much of your time, so I'm just going to keep things short and simple. But first, let's hear a quick spiritual thought... Matthew 11 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Christ invites us to take upon us His yoke. But what does that even mean? President Howard W. Hunter puts it this way, "The yoke was a device … that allowed the strength of a second animal to be linked and coupled with the effort of a single animal, sharing and reducing the heavy labor of the [task in hand]. A burden that was overwhelming or perhaps impossible for one to bear could be equitably and comfortably borne by two bound together with a common yoke....

Here We Go Again -> Week 80

What is up everyone! I hope you all had a great week! Not gonna lie, this week was pretty difficult. But through all of the adversity and obstacles, God pulled through (like He always does) and we were able to see so many blessings!  Okay so first off, the two problems are back and better than ever. And by better than ever, I mean that I went to the hospital, and they completely jacked up my toes. My toe was getting pretty back, and it was starting to get infected, so what they decided to do was to lift up the toe nail, scrapping it off of the skin, and shoving cotton all of the way down to the bottom of the toe. It was one of the most painful experiences ever. Then they finish, or so I think. I look down at my toe and realize that they totally cut and shoved cotton on the wrong side of the toe. So, they had to do the whole procedure again, and now I'm on like a crazy high dose of ibruprophen.  One of my favorite moment this week was teaching and marking our friend, Rafael, fo...
