Getting On The Road Soon (Happy Easter)
What is up everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic week and a happy Easter! I literally love this holiday, and as a missionary, it's even better! It literally emcompasses everything that we teach as missionaries: the Good News.
Quick thought
Elder Holland talks about this "good news". He says, "The word gospel as we use it in English comes down to us through early scriptural language which meant literally “good news” or sometimes “glad tidings.” The “good news” was that death and hell could be escaped, that mistakes and sins could be overcome, that there was hope, that there was help, that the insoluble was solved, that the enemy had been conquered. The good news was that everyone’s tomb could one day be empty, that everyone’s soul could again be pure, that every child of God could again return to the Father who gave them life."
When Jesus Christ broke the chains of death, raised himself from the dead, and was ressurected, he made this good news possible and probable for us. We need to focus on the living Christ. The Christ that I still created miracles in our lives. The Christ that is walking by our side and all times. I hope that everyone could feel His love for your this Easter season.
Speaking of Easter, we put together an easter activity for the ward, and it lowkey went pretty well. He did an easter egg hunt and then painted some eggs. No one here in Brazil has ever painted an egg. According to them, "it only happens in movies". But it was the funniest thing ever watching people break their eggs and laugh in off. And there is truly some talented artists in this ward!
Transfers also came this week, and I'm finally going to be leaving this office! After about only 5 five months as secretary, my long awaited time to get back into the road has come. I'm now training Elder Morgan to be the next secretary. He's from South Carolina, insanely smart, humble, and loving. He's literally the best companion! I'm super excited to see where this transfer takes us, and it can feel a ton of miracles on the way! (even though I literally do nothing all day now)
Before transfer hit, I did an exchange with the one and only Elder Bradford! It was a rush of memories and so good to be back. We worked our tails off, and the spirit was super strong all day! Praying for the day when President puts us together again.
For the past month, we've been planning a "super sunday" for everyone to bring all of their friends to church on Easter Sunday. The members were excited about it, and we were expecting a big showing yesterday. But when we got to church, not a single member brought anyone to church. It was kinda sad, but an A for effort. We still had a super spiritual sacrament meeting, and had a ton of friends there to watch with us.
I'll end with something kinda gross. I left a bag of banana's in the pantry for about a week (which is something totally normal in the US). The pantry then began to stink a lot. We looked in the bag, and there were about a thousand maggots inching about inside and outside of the bananas. Probably the most disgusting thing that I've ever seen in my life.
Okay so that's about it. Hope you guys have the best week! I love you all, and don't forget to say your prayers!
