Rats, Pancakes, And Baptism!!
I wrote an entire email with a fire spiritual thought, and somehow it got deleted when I was adding some photos. I'm so sad. But... take two. This one won't be as good sorry.
Solid week this week! Weshilley and Weslley were baptized and it was such a special experience! I'm so glad that I could be apart of such a life-changing event! I'm so greatful for their decision to put their trust in God and take this big step in their lives!
Also my p-day got moved to today, but just for this week.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
I had a fire spiritual thought, but I guess I'll save it for another week.
I know that Jesus knows you and he loves you! He loves you so much that he suffered all of your hardships and gave his life up for you, paving a pathway back to his father. I know that Jesus lives. I know that families are eternal. Being a missionary has changed my life, but I'm so glad for the opportunity that I have each and every day to be a small piece in changing others' eternity!
This is my small spiritual thought and mini testimony for y'all :)
HIGHLIGHTS
- Baptism: As I mentioned earlier, two more children of God were baptized this Saturday! We spent the morning cleaning the baptismal font. With a garage bag on his cut up foot, Weslley hopped in to help us clean! (picture included) Then the moment arrived. They have gone through so so much to be in this position. Along the way they experienced: two near suicides, a motorcycle accident, went missing for 36 hours, drugs, alcohol, and a strict boss. But with faith and determination, they overcame the adversary! Such examples to me. With pants that were so tight they nearly ripped, and an overflowing baptismal font, Weslley and Weshilley (brother and sister) were baptized. After the baptism, Weslley was bawling his eyes out crying. I gave his a big hug and asked him: "how are you feeling right now?" He replies with a big smile: "I feel complete." What a powerful and spiritual moment!!
- God works in wonderful ways: About three weeks ago, I felt prompt to give a Book of Mormon to someone. Well... nothing every came out of it. He was either always working or drinking. Well... we thought that nothing ever came out of it. We stopped by his house the other day, and his son answers the door (gate). His son saw the book laying around in the house, picked it up, and was super interested to read! We marked a part for him and I promised him that we would feel peace deep in his heart if he read the Book of Mormon that night. That night, we received a text saying that he read and felt God's love for him deep in his heart that night like he's never felt before! The Book of Mormon is true! God's love is infinate.
- Murderings: Five people died this week on our street. Two in motorcycle accidents, and three were murdered. Pray for me!
- Pancakes: We went to a members house for dinner and a family night and they had pancakes for us!! First Traditional American pancakes that I've eaten in over five months! And they were so good!! I'll never take american breakfast for granted ever again!
- Ratão: This means "big rat" in portuguese. There's your portuguese lesson for the day. We saw a rat, about the size of a skunk with a snake-looking tail, burrowing through some trash. Literally the pile of trash was moving like crazy! lol
Sorry this was shorter than usual. Hopefully that mean more people read it! But I'm continuing to love it out hear and I especially love it when you guys send me emails! But anyways, love you guys and I'll talk to y'all next week!
