Batismo!
What's up everyone! Hope you're having a great day! I'm coming to you on a monday this week, because our p-day officially got moved to mondays! I know, it's crazy.
Also yet again, I have absolutely zero time to write this email this week. And I'm not just saying that. The schedule today is looking like: wake up at 6am, travel, play soccer from 7am - 10am, travel, eat lunch (we're making a barbeque today), get a haircut, play some more soccer, shower, and find time to call my family, email my mission president, and email all of y'all.
So for this email, I'm going to be covering two miracles that happened this weekend: the baptisms of Damião and Elisangela!
1)
Damião has been going to church for months now. Many, many missionaries have tried to baptize him in the past with no success. When I arrived in the area, we felt prompted to invite him yet again and he accepted! Only problem... There were so many problems. But this man's faith was outstanding! In just three weeks, he went from 2 liters of coffee, a pack of cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs every day to absolutely nothing! On the day of the baptism, everyone was busy and no one showed up to support. I was pretty sad, but the spirit that I felt was so strong! After the baptism, he had the biggest smile on his face! I asked him how we felt, and he said, "I feel free". I love being a missionary!
2)
Our other miracle was Elisangela! She was that woman who called us from her window four weeks ago. She literally contacted us. She has grown so so much since the first contact! She has gone from, "I know this church is true" to "I'm too scared to be baptized" and back to "this is the happiest day of my life". She is 9 months pregnant and has the biggest spirit! I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to change the lives of these people out here!
That's it for today! Took a break from soccer to finish this, so I'll get back to that! I love you all, have a great week!
