Class Is In Session (Week 28)

Good morning! Hope yall had a fantastic week! We're about to have a giant game a soccer so I don't have a ton of time to write this.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT

7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.

Here is a scripture to reflect on. God will never command you to do anything or give you any obstacle without preparing means whereby you can accomplish that thing! Amen.

HIGHLIGHTS

- So I've officially become the english teacher here in my area, Bayeux Alto. Every Wendesday, 6:30pm, I hold a class at the church and today will be the third class. We had about 20 people there last week and we're expecting a big showing this week. The only problem is, the english language just doesn't make any sense and I kinda forgot how to speak proper english. Like I have no idea why we throw the word "do" in front of a question. If anyone knows the answer, please help me!!

- We helped someone move houses last Sunday which was kinda fun. Seeing four missionaries, dressed in white shirts and ties, struggling to carry a fridge up the stairs is a sight to see. Unfortunatly, those shirts are now yellow.

- We had interviews with our mission president this week and these are always my favorite days. Mission presidents literally know you better than you know yourself. In this interview, we focused on the attributes of leadership and obedience. And something that pres told me that caught my attention was that I'm likely going to be staying in my area as a district leader for awhile. Time to get a little cozy. Something else that he told me was that he wants to schedule a rematch in spikeball, but I have to where an eye patch. Being a little cocky and changed it to an eye patch and lefty. lol. Do I think I'll win? Absolutely not. But we had a good laugh about it.

- On Sunday we had some problems getting to church and we ended up showing up 30 minutes late. This was a little problem, because we missed the sacrament. (bread and water which symbolizes Christ). and there's no way that we can teach this week without the spirit. So we took the only logical approach, broke up and blessed an oreo cookie and took the sacrament. It was actually such a spiritual experience.

- Yesterday we had exchanges and my good friend Elder Cocha joined me in my area. He is much more experienced than me and it's so easy to tell. We worked super hard and made a week's worth of new people being taught. I learned so much from this exchange, but the thing I probably learned most was that there is a fine line between faith and reality. At times as a missionary, I find myself having too much faith in our friends that we're teaching. This isn't all that bad, but I find myself losing a lot of valuable time. I kinda took this as a life lesson. We can't put all of out trust in man. As a missionary, I'm constantly inviting others to pray to God and asking for answers to our prayers. Also trust God and his spirit before anything else.

Love you all! Have a good week!
