Eggs Are A Sin: Week 33?
Another week has flown by here in Brazil and let's get into it. And honestly, this was one of the most normal weeks that I've had in a awhile, so this email shouldn't get too long.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
This Saturday, we will have the unique opportunity to do something that only happens twice a year:
Our phophet and his apostles are going to be speaking to us via internet!!
I would just like to testify that just like the Bible had many many prophets, we have a prophet today who guides the church, receives revelation, and literally talks with God.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to watch our prophet speak and guide us! Here's the link to watch if you are interested:
Saturday: 12pm - 2pm and 4pm - 6pm est
Sunday: 12pm - 2pm and 4pm - 6pm est
HIGHLIGHTS
- in my english class this week, I taught the Brazilians how to say a prayer in English. It was the most wholesome thing ever when one of them ended the class with a prayer.
- sometimes I just don't understand people. We had a lesson with one of our friends this week and it was going so well. He's crying through the whole lesson, telling us that he feels God's love for him super strong, and recounts a dream that he had the night after he went to church. He literally had a dream with his mom (who passed away) dressed in all white, waiting for him, calling him to follow her. It was so amazing! Well... the next day we returned and he laughed through the entire lesson and told us that he doesn't want to come to church anymore. I swear the devil got a hole of him or something.
- for a little less that $4, I bought a gourmet burger, fries, and milkshake. I love brazil!
- we had a lesson this week where we taught this 10 year old the commandments. We start talking about the word of wisdom (comandment about five things we shouldn't consume). Well, he added a sixth. Eggs are offically against the word of wisdom. Gabriel doesn't like eggs.
- saw some really cool miracles this week. I had learned on the mission, when we have faith to perservere through the hard time, God will always create a path for us to accomplish whatever thing that we wanted to do. On Saturday, nearly all of our appointments feel through by 3pm. I was so close to just giving up and going to an activity at the church. But we stayed strong, perservered, and God placed some outstanding friends in our path!
- we went to a family history activity in our ward yesterday and I spent 20 minutes trying to find Adam and Eve on my family tree. Had no success, but if anyone has any tips, I'm here for them.
That's it for this week! Love you all!
