Transfer News And Miracles
Good morning everyone! Today is kinda crazy so I'm gonna keep this short. But we had transfers today and I'm staying here in Bayeux!! I love this area and am so excited to keep working with our members and friends here! Unfortunately, my companion, Elder Oliviera, got tranfered. Saddest news ever. But it's okay because now I'm serving with another American, Elder Peterson! This transfer is going to be a fun one!
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
On Tuesday, we had a zone conference (big mission conference with a bunch of missionaries). At this conference, President gave a cool analogy that I liked.
President talked about the difference between diamonds and carborundum. Diamonds are these beautiful gems used for rings, necklaces, etc. Carborudum is used as a black silicon abrasive. But they're practically the same thing. Carbordums até just diamonds that didn't get enough heat and pressure, so they didn't become diamonds.
In our missions and lives in general, we all start out as carborudum. But we all have the same divine potential to turn into diamonds. With the correct heat and pressure, we can all be like diamonds and reach our divine potential that God set for us! I invite you all to look for ways that you can better yourself everyday and get closer into becoming that diamond.
HIGHLIGHTS
- I saw the power of prayer and scripture study firsthand this week through one of our recent converts. We baptized her last Sunday, she was super happy! We returned back there on Wednesday, she wanted nothing to do with us. She told us that she didn't want to go to church anymore, she wanted to return her book of mormon, and she didn't even want us to return to her house. I was devastated! But we ignored her request and returned to her house on Saturday. She opened the door with a smile on her face. She said, "I know this is the true church of Jesus Chirst!" At that point I had the biggest smile on my face! She was feeling sad and lonely that morning and decided to open the book of mormon. The second that she opened the book, she was instantly filled with so much peace and comfort! She always told us that she prayed for the first time with an open heart that morning, and felt an overcoming joy and assurance that this church is true! The power of prayer is real! If you haven't tried it, try it! This recent convert is here to stay!!
- Ate a ton of pizza this week! Always happens on the last week of transfers.
- We received a member reference yesterday at church. This man lost his wife to covid three years ago and feels lost. We thought him about his purpose and plan that God has for him and his wife. He was so happy! I love how much the gospel of Christ can change people lives and bring them so much happiness! He's going to be baptized on the 25th!!
That's it for this week. I'm try to do some crazier things next week for yall. But I love you all and I hope you all have the best week!
