Rainy and Sick Easter Season
Opa tudo bem!! I hope you all had the best week ever and you could eat lots of chocolate and jellybeans, and celebrate the ressurection of Jesus Christ for me! Something that I've come to know here in Brazil is it's just party party party. And because of this, literally every holiday loses it's significance. Literally no one mentioned Easter and everyone was just drunk on the streets. But it's okay, Christ died and was ressurected for them too.
This week was also pretty hard physically. I'm currently fighting off two sickness, but this rain doesn't make that fight any easier. On top of that, after walking a week straight in flip flops, the arches of my feet are offially gone, and these new boots are absolutely killing me. But I guess that's just part of the mission. Let's get spiritual.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
We celebrate Easter to remember the ressurection of our Savior Jesus Christ. But did you know that we will all be ressurected? Yes. Through the Savior's Atonement and Resurrection, all people will be saved, or gain salvation, from physical death. We will all be ressurected, become immortal, and live forever, whether we are righteous or wicked.
Then why are we here on Earth? Because physical death isn't the only thing that we're here to overcome. We need to gain salvation from our own individual spirtual death. We can do this also through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. By putting faith in him, repenting, being baptized by waters and the spirit, and continuing to live in obedience to the laws and oridances of His Gospel.
We're here on Earth on gain Exaltation. This is a conditional gift based on our Earthly life. Exaltation means living with God forever in eternal families! It is to know God and Jesus Christ and to experience the life that they enjoyed! This Easter season, study Christ's Atonement and Ressurection and begin to analise your life in accordance to God's teachings!
HIGHLIGHTS
- I guess it's fish season here in Brazil or something because I've been eating a ton of fish recently. And they always ask me before, "Do you like fish?", and I'm starting to rethink my answer. The fish that they bring out looks like it's been dead for a few years lol. Still tastes like fish though!
- We baptized three people last week and were all set to have three confirmations this Sunday, but the rain and work scared people away. We still have one confirmation though! You're the man Gabriel!
- We helped a woman in our church whose roof caved in due to the heavy rains this week. Everything that we were doing to help was again like all of the mission rules, so I kinda just stood there and gave some moral support!
- we helped the zone leaders finally move out of our house with the help of a bunch of teenage boys who play soccer at the church. My white shirt is officially just not white anymore!
- Had some really cool moments this week where I knew that God put me in the right place at the right time to help the right person!
- Today we are having a giant mutlizone water balloon fight to comemorate the end of our mission exercise challenge! The closest that I'm be to swimming in two years!
- made pancakes for Easter dinner
Well that's it for this week! Hope yall have an amazing week and you can accomplish that one thing that you've been wanting to accomplish! I love you all and I'm praying for you!
