Back To The Hospital

Good morning! This week has been a struggle not gonna lie. Last week was a whole lot of sickness and rain, but this week was even more sickness and even more rain. I spent Tuesday in the hospital with literally every symptom that you can think of. I thought that I was dying lol. Also two Americans in a Brazilian hospital isn't the best combination. After a million question that I didn't understand (just nod your head and smile), six tests, and two one hour naps on the testing chair, I got my diagnosis. Bronchitis and an intenstinal infection :)

Took one day off, four medications, and now I'm back on my feet. Oh yeah, one thing that I learned here in Brazil is that when you're sick, they just load you up with every medicine until you start feeling better. I still don't have all of the strength back in my body which is a little concerning, but we'll get there.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT

You have 604,800 seconds every week. You can't use anymore and you can save any. Analize how you're using your seconds now. Take a few seconds to prioritize what matters most in your life. I'll give you a tip.

Matthew 6: 33

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these thing shall be added unto you."

We have all of the answers we need. Look unto God for help and guidance. Give him your seconds!

HIGHLIGHTS

- They put me on a strict diet of no dairy or fatty foods for a week to combat my infection. That's literally every food in Brazil. We told one of our members this before lunch and she comes out with this mountain of rice for me! I seasoned it up with some ketchup and had ketchup and rice for lunch.

- last p-day we had a giant multizone activity and it was amazing! First time that I played American football in 8 months, and I loved every second of it. Only downside was that I burnt my face like really really bad and it's been peeling all week. But on the other note, cover your assets is my new favorite game. Came out with 1,090,000 dollars. I'm ready for the real world now.

- Yesterday we worked with one of the return missionaries on our area. This is when I realized that I still have so much growing to do as a missionary. This man has so many insane stories and experiences and knows how to make missionary work fun. I was taking some notes.

- It was also pouring rain yesterday and the streets were completely flooded! It looked like a river on every street. It was honestly one of the most fun days on the mission. After a bit we kinda just accepted that we'd get wet and just trekked through the water. At some points it really felt like we were walking through rainforests!

- We've been looking for one of our friends that we contacted for weeks. It took us about a week to find his house and even after, we never found him in his house. The other day we were planning our day and we decided to throw a member's name on the schedule. We get to the member's house and our friend is just chilling on the porch. It was truly a miracle! We had a super spiritual lesson and extended a baptismal invitation which he happily accepted!

- The most frustrating thing ever is that we are still trying to confirm two friends that were baptized three weeks ago! It's truly been such a journey and so much opposition! I can testify that the adversary works the hardest on God's most elect.

- Had a few really cool spiritual prompting on a day where a really needed a boost. I know that God knows me and is aware of my needs and shortcomings.
