Baptisms And Break Ins
What's up everyone! Hope you all had a great week! Not gonna lie, this was a pretty exhausting week. One of those weeks where you collapse through the door every night whhen you get home. We were also able to see God's hand many many times which was a blessing! There were also so really crazy things that happened this week, some of week I can ever include here, sorry. But yeah, let's get right into it.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
Little Book of Mormon story that I like.
In the book of Alma, when Ammon meets King Lamoni, Ammon and the King get into a little fight and Ammon is in position to kill King Lamoni.
Lamoni says, "If thou wilt spare me I will grant unto thee whatsoever thou wilt ask, even to half of the kingdom."
He was willing to give up half of his kingdom for his life.
Ammon spares him, takes nothing, and later his brother, Aaron, teaches him the gospel.
After Aaron teaches the gospel to King Lamoni, the king says, "I will give up all that I possess, yea, I will forsake my kingdom, that I may receive this great joy."
King Lamoni values eternal life over his own mortal life. We need to be like King Lamoni. Be willing to give up anything we need in this life to obtain God's kingdom in the next life.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Baptism: We had Kettly's baptism this week! It's kinda funny how we found her. She is the niece of our recent convert and we were passing by their house and I invited the recent convert to church. Of cource she said yes. But then I saw her niece in the other room and decided to ask her if she wanted to go to. She was down and has been going to church ever since! She is such a light and I am super excited to see the gospel work in her life!
- Antonio: The dude who takes others to church and hands out pamphlets for another church. Well, he came to church again and he loves it! Only problem, he talked to his Pastor about being baptized and now he doesn't know what to do. This made has so much faith and hope! I'm really hoping that he can continue to stay strong and receive an answer that the church is true! His friend Joao, on the other hand, showed up to church too! Only problem was he was hungover and had a big gash on his forehead.
- Exchange: Had a pretty interesting exchange this week in a neighboring area. First off, I could never serve in that area. Their teaching group is a bunch of grandmas and their members just complain about other members the whole time. I had zero patience by the end of the day. I'm so glad to be in my area! We also saw a rat at lunch, ordered six pizzas (for 4 missionaries), slept on a rock-hard bed, and did a baptismal interview. It was a solid exchange!
- Broke into an Apartment: I'm not very proud of this one, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. One of our progressing investigators lives in an apartment complex. No one ever hears us knocking on the door, and we usually wait there forever for someone to unlock the door. Well, the other day, I was investigating the lock and realized that it was so easy to open the door. I proceeding to slide my card of Jesus being baptized through the door and got right in. Don't worry, I repented.
- There was a promotion and I ate over a kilo of acai for $4.
- We had a very stressed and blessed day of church this week! Our friends love to show up at the absolute last minute, which always leaves us holding our breathe.
That's all for this week! Love you all and have a great week!
