Mother's Day And Miracles

Oii Tudo bem? I hope you all had a fantastic week! And happy mother's day to all of you mothers out there! Love you mom! This week flew by pretty quickly so let's get right into it.

HIGHLIGHTS

alcohol: So alcohol is a hot topic here in my area. Starting off with the fact that every single Sunday, everyone gets absolutely wasted and it makes it so hard to talk to anyone. On Saturday, we were talking to this mom and her son on the side of the street. All of a sudden, her husband comes out of the house drunk out of his mind. We finish the contact, hand out a Book of Mormon, and ask for her number. The husband passes us the wrong number, I notice that it's wrong and speak up, she runs inside and grabs her phone, the husband gets all up in my face and says, "of course I gave you the wrong number, I don't want to talking to my wife." She then comes back in the nick on time and holds this dude back before he breaks me in half. Hey, but on the bright side, our friend Joao hasn't drinken alcohol in a week and went to churrch yesterday again! Please pray for Joao.

church is true: This week, we had so many Restoration lessons with our friends, gave so many accounts of the first vision, showed so many videos of Joseph Smith, and made so many invitations to pray and know that it's all true. Each time we did this, my testimony of the church and the restoration of the gospel grew so much! And I got so happy, because our friends were receiving answers too!! Andrielle prayed for the very first time, fell asleep, and immediately received her answer in her dream! It's so crazy how the spirit works through people!

worst sleepover ever: Friday night was crazy! Because of two baptismal interviews, I had to do a mini exchange with one of the zone leaders. Elder Crane and I ran into so many problems. We had 30 minutes to get to another area. We tried uber, none accepted for 10 minutes. We were about to create our own path through the jungle and run 3 miles, but some grandma stopped us and told us that if we walk through there we are dead. (apparently there are murders all of the time there). So after about half an hour of confusion, we played frog hopper across the highway, and hitched a ride to the area. We get there, interview goes well, we go to Elder Vaclaw's birthday party (happy bday man) and stay the night at their apartment. New problem: six elder in one apartment. Elder Crane and I had the worst sleep of our lives, sleeping on a plain matress, using a dirty sheet (that stained me yellow), and my wet towel as a pillow. Not to mention I was in my dirty clothes. We slept about four hours that night, but we did have some pretty cool conversations and play minihoop basketball.

tithing isn't for everyone: On Sunday, bishop's dad gets up to give a talk about tithing. He starts off by talking about how we doesn't have enough faith to pay tithing, so he will try to teach and testify about something that he doesn't do himself. It was the funniest thing ever! But don't ask me why we had three talks and a lesson on tithing, on mother's day.

other cool things:

- I interviewed a pastor of another church for baptism and he passed!

- Had an exchange, and a woman that I interviewed three months ago came up to me and said that she wants to be baptized sunday.

- ate burgers, pancakes, cookies, and chocolate pizza this week. Like a lot.

- Taught some youth how to do missionary work and we hit the streets with them and saw some miracles.

- I testified in sign language to a deaf elect lady that Jesus Christ loves her.

- sixers lost yesterday and it was not a cool thing at all.

But that's it for this week! Thank you all for all of the love and support! You guys are the best! Love you all and I'll talk to you next week!
