Staying Here 6 More

What is up everyone! How are you guys doing? I had a fantastic week this week and got some not so big big news. Today is transfers and I'm staying here in Bayeux Alto! This made me so happy because I love this area, love the members, and love helping these people draw closer to Christ. To top it all off, I'm staying with my same companion and my district nearly didn't change at all. It's like it wasn't even transfers.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT

On Wednesday, I was studying for my day like we do every morning. And one thing that we also always do is say a prayer before our studies to receive guidance. This day, I said a prayer, asking God to help me find something very specific that will help one of our friends with some problems that he's been having.

No I didn't change what I was going to study. I just left off where I was yesterday and let the spirit guide me. During my studies, I came across this scripture:

2 Nephi 9: 29, 30

29 But to be learned is good if they hearken unto the counsels of God.

30 But wo unto the rich, who are rich as to the things of the world. For because they are rich they despise the poor, and they persecute the meek, and their hearts are upon their treasures; wherefore, their treasure is the god. And behold, their treasure shall perish with them also.

We came to thing Earth to gain knowledge. Knowledge is one of the only things that we will take with us to heaven. This scripture is telling us that knowledge of God is super super important, but only if you're willing to act on it. We need to be poor in heart, and but willing to act on our heavenly knowledge!

I know that God knows his children and he is aware of their needs. I had the opportunity of sharing this scripture with our friend and it helped him shift his perspective on life and I hope that it can do the same for you!

HIGHLIGHTS

- We had a fantastic zone conference this week and it was the physical and spiritual boost that I needed! We learned so much about our purpose as missionaries and how we can achieve and focus on our purpose. Our mission president also extended an invitation for everyone: be 100% exact obedient for seven days, and look for the miracles. Well because of this invitation, my companion and I sprinted 2 miles home that night through the jungle. This did not mix well with my ingrown toenail and bronchitis.

- Speaking of ingrown toenails, I got another one and yet again got to experience the worst pain in my life as this lady tried ripping my nail off like four times.

- Got to make a mutual for one of our recent converts. He was complaining about not having a wife, so we had to resort to Provo's get a wife in one month app.

- We had a family night this week with some members and friends and I had the opportunity of sharing a very special message with them about our divine potential and where we need to look for truth. It was such a fun, spiritual night as we played some guess who and ate some cake! And ended up with everyone coming to church the next day with us!

- Church was perfect yesterday! What wouldn't have been a perfect way to send it off for what I tought was my last day in the area lol (seriously though, I told everyone that I was leaving). After a month of hardwork, we finally got to confirm both Matheus and Milton! On top of that, almost everyone that we invited kinda just showed up on their own right before sacrament! I just wanted to cry lol, so many prayers were answered in that sort period of time. After church I took "goodbye" photos with everyone lol.

- Had an exchange this week and came across a member who lived in the US for three years. Let's just say after our hour long conversation, we were both craving rootbeer, swedish fish, and american burgers!!

Anyways, have a great week, love you all!
