Moved Across The Mission

Good morning everyone! I hope you all are having a great week! Just wanted to start this email off by wishing a happy birthday to my twin bros, Jason and Christian, who somehow turned 16 yesterday. If you haven't yet, go wish them a happy birthday.

This week was probably one of the most crazy weeks here on the mission! We got transfer news this week, and not only did I leave my companion and my area, I got moved to the complete opposite side of the mission, with a companion who also did the same thing. So yeah, this has been a difficult week nonetheless.

First Impressions
Here are my first impression here in Monte Castelo (my new area) :
- it is absolutely freezing at night and I am using a blanket for the first time on my mission. Ever though it's still only like 50 degrees, it feels like the winter that I've been missing.
- It rains like crazy here! On Friday, it literally rained from sunrise to sunset nonstop. This made it super difficult to get familiar with the area and meet anyone.
- The ward is super small and weak. On Sunday we had 27 members at church and this was one of the best weeks that they've had in a while! They are going to have all of the stake leaders attend our church for now on to help build the church up again.
- The area is super beautiful! Everywhere you look, there are hills, mountains, farms, weird rock creation, and animals. I love this area!

Toe nails
Okay so before I left my old area, I was having some serious toe nail problems. (I think that I gotta stop playing soccer with these brazilians). I had to go to the doctors three times to get surgery done on my toenails and it was again the worst pain that I've experienced in my life. The way that she peels back the nail off of the skin, cuts in, and yanks it out just does not feel good at all. She also gave me two counsels to follow. I can't wear shoes and I can't get my toenails wet. Well the first day here in my area, I wore sandals and my toenails got absolutely soaked by the rain. So the second day, I wore my boots and broke both rules.

Baptism Crisis
So when I got into this area, there were two boys marked for baptism for this past Saturday. So we prepared them a little bit more, and marked their interviews. Then when Saturday came, we go to clean and fill the baptismal font and it's completely full of gross water from the last baptism. We also find out that the draining system doesn't work, and we spent the next four hours draining the font by hand, filling buckets with water and dumping them out of the window. My back has never been so sore! Oh yeah, also both baptisms fell through because the missionaries that taught and marked the kids for baptism apparently didn't teaching or prepare anything. So yeah, we'll work on that a bit.

Thoughts
Something that I've learned though all of these experiences this week, is the importance of actually building God's kingdom here on the Earth and not just growing God's kingdom. This ward is going to need a ton of help this transfers and I am totally here for it! We are going to build up this ward from the ground up and create an environment where our friends in teaching will want to come to church and will want to stay in the chruch! It's going to be a project for sure, but I think we're ready!

That's it for this week! Love you all! Shoot me a message on Facebook messenger if you haven't already and have a fantastic week!
