God Is Good
This was a super tough week again. But what I've learned is that God really provides in the hardest moments! Here in Campina Grande, literally everyone is sick. Me, my companion, the other elders in our apartment, all of our investigators, everyone is sick. This made working pretty hard. But like a said: God always provides!
Baptism
One way I saw God's hand prevail in the work this week was through Lucas's baptism! Since I arrived here four weeks ago, we've been fasting and praying for Lucas's baptism. He's gone to church for about two months now, but his grandma did not like the idea, at all. It was so cool to watch her heart change and soften this week! We were able to mark the baptismal interview, the baptism, and she came! It was truly a miracle! The spirit was super strong during the baptism and he and his grandma were smiling so much! After the baptism, his grandma turns to Lucas's cousin and says, "You're next". Lucas is going to be an immediate help to this ward and I can't wait to see him pass the sacrament next week!
God's Timing
Another way that I saw God hand in the work this week was through His perfect timing. There were so many times this week where we were in the exact right place at the exact right time. For example, we marked to visit a random member that we didn't know. We get there and she comes out crying. It that moment, she was praying for God to show her a sign that He loves her. I could tell that she was going through a really tough time in her life and really needed God's love in that moment! This is why I love being a missionary!
My Favorite Sunday on the Mission
When I woke up on Sunday, I was feeling super sick, but I knew that it would be a good day! Something good always happens when we work through our trials. We got to church and two of the families that we had invited were already there with members by their sides! I was so happy! Then about five minutes later, another family that we have been really focusing on showed up! It was a miracle! The mom was crying through the meeting, and in the second hour, her son bore his testimony about the church and the missionaries! The ward is getting super excited about these families and we have built up such a great trust with these members! God is so good!
other cool things
- had a leadership meeting this week and got to travel across the mission! Lowkey felt like a field trip.
- had my eighth exchange with Elder Concha on the mission and I think it was our best one yet! We took care of both of our areas while our comps took a sick day.
- happy forth of july! We did absolutely nothing here :)
That's it for this week! Have a great week and I'll talk to y'all next week! Love you guys!
