Half-Week (Week 45)

You know those half-days at school? Well this was one of those half weeks on the mission. After months of pain in the toes, I finally listened to doctor's orders and took a break. It was sad. It was difficult. But it helped me in so many ways.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT

Being trapped at home for two days gave me a ton of time to study and reflect on my mission. Something that I focused on was our conversion to Christ. As a disciple of Jesus Christ, I am constantly trying to continue to be converted to Christ. As a missionary of Jesus Christ, I am constantly trying to help others take the first steps in the conversion process. So what is a conversion?

Conversion: a change that occurs in our beliefs, heart and lives as soon as we accept and follow the Will of God.

We are converted when we recognize and accept God's Will in our lives. And we know that God's Will for all of His children is called the Plan of Salvation. In other words, God put us on this Earth so that we can return to His presence one day and have everything that He has.

And we also know that through living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we can fulfill God's plan and return back to our Heavenly Father. Through faith, repentence, baptism, the receiving of the Holy Ghost, and our proceeding actions, we can live in accordance to God's Will.

So what am I trying to say with this? We can experience a conversion to Jesus Christ by recognizing that God's Will is for us to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ and then acting and following Christ. And we can only do this through the help and support of the Holy Ghost, who is the agent to our conversion.

Act now. Follow Christ. Live His Gospel. And convert yourself to Christ.

HIGHLIGHTS

Pure Joy

When I received the news that I would have to stay home (originally for 15 days, but I bargained it down to 2) I was devastated. I just wanted to go out and fulfill my purpose. I kinda just felt like a failure and a burden for my area, my ward, and my companion. Well, on Tuesday, we had lunch with a member who lives super close to us, so I decided to test out the toe and we walked. Well, on the way, we made a contact and handed out a Book of Mormon, and I had the biggest smile on my face and felt some pure joy! I didn't realized how much I loved this work, until it was taken from me.

Church

The church is continuing to grow and we were up to 40 people at church! This tiny, dying ward, that once had 20 atendees, is now double the size! And it's all thanks to these members who have really stepped it up recently! I was so happy! Then while sitting in the chapel waiting for more people to come, I looked out the window and saw two of the biggest pigs that I have ever seen in my life! They were digging through our trash and walking around the outside of the church. I was trying not to laugh so hard, and I knew in that moment that no one else would be showing up to church that day.

other fun things

- my comp went to sleep early on Friday and we set up a little prank in which we changed all of the clocks in the house and had him waking up in the middle of the night and picking up some bread for breakfast.

- taught a ton of lessons on Temple this week and I know that families are eternal!

- we had a five-hour lunch the other day and we could not figure out how to leave lol.

- the cookies are back and they're bringing people back to church! We had a family night this week with chocolate chip cookies (everyone's new favorite dessert) and brought back a family of seven.

- please pray for Lucas, Pedro, Neilma and fam, Ivania, Livia, and the Agra family. thanks :)

That's it for this week! Love you all and have a fantastic week!
