1 Down, 1 To Go
What is up everyone! I hope y'all had a fantastic week! Today officially marks exactly one year since I was set apart as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! It's honestly so crazy to think about how far I've come, how much I've grown, how much I've learned, and how much weight I gained in just one year! I would be lying if I said that it wasn't the hardest yet most joyous year of my entire life! Every week is such a struggle and a blessing and I love it!
This week was no different. We were extremely busy, worked our tails off, hit up the hospital, but in the end, saw the fruits of our labor. Let's talk about it.
drugged up
Okay yeah, so Brazil tends to give you way more drugs and medications than you actually need. This week we decided to finally put these stomach problems to an end, so I decided to take an endoscopy test (the tube that gets stuck down your throat). This woman sprayed my throat, it went completely numb. Then she stuck a needle in my arm, and I don't remember anything for the next three hours. The only thing that I have a vague memory of is seeing like three of everything while in the uber and absolutely tripping out about it. Afterwards, the other missionaries said that I was yelling, throwing things, and completely helpless. They definitely used way to many drugs because I've still been light-headed ever since.
Tatiana's baptism
Tatiana was baptized! It was such a specially moment! The spirit was super strong and everything just seemed to go righ tinto place. Tatiana was smiling and crying and just so happy to be making covenants with her Heavenly Father! She has so much faith and I'm so happy to see the impact that she is going to make in this ward! I am so glad that God placed her in our paths and we were able to be used to bring her this joy through the Gospel! God is so good! (and that cake after the baptism was also so good)
other cool things that happened
- Happy Father's Day to all of you dad's out there! Yesterday was Brazilian Father's Day and we celebrated doing a giant bbq with a bunch of the members. Love you dad!
- We had our Leadership Conference and we had another heated debate that led to some positive changes in the mission.
- During this Conference, our President and his wife went around giving every missionary a compliment, and it was a very special moments. I love our leaders in this mission!
- We had Karyoke night with the Elder's Quorom and it was the funniest thing ever! A bunch of older Brazilian dads singing ancient Brazilian music lol. Catch me and Elder Bradford crushing "What does He think"! Funniest and worst duet of my life.
- I was able to give a little child a priesthood blessing, and the pure joy that radiated from this child showed me that God love His children! He loves you!
I hope y'all have a great week! We are doing a mission p-day today, so that should be super fun! But I love you all and I'll be back next week!
