Power Of Prayer (Week 52)
Hey what's up everyone! I saw a few really good miracles this week and had a few fun experiences, so let's get into it.
Reunited with the boy
We did an exchange this week and I got put back up with one of my old companions, Elder Oliveira! I love Elder Oliveira and he is easily one of my favorite companions that I've had. He works in the office, so our exchange didn't start until way late, but we were determined to get the most out of it and mark everyone for baptism. I went to his area, we planned the day, and got on to the road. We taught a few people, marked about three for baptism, taught a member about the temples, and saw a really cool miracle. When we were walking from appointments, Elder Oliveira got the prompting that we needed to visit someone else that wasn't even on the schedule. We get there and immediately see the dad of the woman that we are visiting, on the ground, shaking and struggling to breath. He was having a seizure right before our eyes. We had no clue what we could to do to help, so Elder Oliveira turns to me and says, "say a prayer". I then awkwardly ask everyone who was panicking, "hey can I say a prayer?" They agreed, we said the prayer, and within seconds, this dude stops grasping, starts coughing, and sits up. I knew in that moment, that the faith of everyone there that loved this man so much literally healed this man. It was truly a miracle!
Health
I'm currently getting sick, but I'm pretty sure it's just a small cold or something and I'm be fine tomorrow. We ate like trrible this week and I feel like a literally gained back all of the weight back that I lost with my stomach problems, plus more. We literally ate three steak barbecues, three pizzas, two giants burgers, and a bunch of candy this week. You know I'm about to go on that cleanse soon. I also did an ultrasound test this week. I honestly thought that the test was just for pregnant women, so it felt kinda weird, but that came back normal. And, oh yeah, I put on shoes last week, but my toes were killing me, so I might just rock flipflops for the rest of my life.
Other cool things and mini miracles
- it was my mom's birthday this this week, so please wish her a late happy birthday! Love you mom!
- we ate lunch 2 on 2 with President and his wife this week. They took us to the nicest burger place in the city and talked with us for like two hours. It was so nice to get to know them so much more! We talked about work, plans for after the mission, and they testified to us about the power of prayer!
- during one of our contacts, this dude did a drug deal. He then proceeds to show us the crack cocaine in his hand, and starts making weird signs, and touching me very weirdly.
- at dinner one night, I drew a portrait of this 6 year old girl. For those of you that know me, know that I'm realllly good at portraits. Well, kinda messed this one up and it turned out like a chubby George Washington. She then proceeded to cry, tell me she doesn't like me anymore, and give me the silent treatment. I then gave her her very own Book of Mormon and she instantly forgave me :)
- karyoke is back and better than ever! We did a giant ward karyoke night and it went so well. Catch Elder Bradford and I singing "Sticks and Stones" from the youth album lol.
- we had interviews with President yesterday, and these are literally always my favorite days of the transfer. Received some sad news, and some good advise. President literally knows us so well and has so much trust in his misisonaries!
- we pulled up to one of our lessons, and this mother was super sad that her son's motorcycle got robbed the night before. We then offered a prayer for her so that they can find the motorcycle. As soon as I finished the prayer, I though to myself, "imagine if the motorcycle just appeared right now". Then that very second, the son rounds the corner with the motorcycle. Again, God is good, He answers prayers, and works miracles according to our faith!
Okay so that's it for this week. I'm about to just crash for the entire day, but I love you guys and am praying for you guys!
