Getting Married! (Week 57)

Hey what's up everyone! This week was super busy and just seemed to fly by. But we're gonna play some soccer soon so this one's gonna be a little quicker.

health update: I'm currently dealing with wrist, back, shin, and toenail problems, but the prayers are working and it's all getting better. I also got pretty sick the other day and ended up sleeping for 13 hours straight. It's been years since I've done that and I'm not gonna lie, it was much needed!

In our area we have a couple of really cool things planned for this month, including a wedding and baptism that we were able to mark! So this week, we focued a lot of our efforts on finding new people to teach. And it kinda worked and didn't work at the same time. Did we find new people to teach that want to progress? Yes. Did they come to church yesterday? No. The absolute worst thing as a missionary is the constant sunday morning rainstorm.

Miracle: So speaking of the wedding, it was a giant headache to mark. First things first, I don't even know how a wedding works in America. And second, I'm not in America, and Brazil is 10x more complicated. But we were able to go to the wedding office this week and get a couple of things sorted out, but the bride was getting super stressed out over everything. So as any missionary would do, we decided to do a fast with her to help with the wedding preparations and costs. It was not an easy fast, but God sure made a miracle happen. When we got to church, the Relief Society President and Bishop talked with the bride, and sorted out all of the plans and the costs! Everyone was super happy, and I know that her testimony was strengthened in that moment!

Side note. One of my top two favorite things to do as a missionary is help inactive members return to church. It changes the life of the member, and excites a ward so much! This week we were able to get a couple of member references and help "rescue" some members who haven't come to church in years!

I was also able to give my very first talk on my mission. (that little speach thing you do in front of everyone at church) It's kinda crazy that I went over a year as a missionary without giving a single talk! The only problem, there was just no time to prepare. I was trying my best to get a couple of notes down during my personal study this week and during our calls saturday night, but in the end, I just prayed super hard that the spirit would guide me. What didn't make matters better was that the other speaker didn't show up, so my 15 minute talk turned into a speak as long as you can talk. I was able to speak 25 minutes on missionary work, get a couple of tears, and buy enough time for them to find another speaker on the spot. I was really have with that talk!

So that's about it for today. I how that you all have a fantastic week! I love you all!
