Ground Hog's Day

What is up everyone!? I hope you all had a fantastic week this week. For me, I feel like I just stepped through a time machine, and I'm reliving my mission over again. I know, complicated, but I'll explain everything.

Okay so we had transfers this week, and unfortunety, I left Costa e Silva. It was probably the sadest goodbye yet. Those were probably some of the best three months of my mission. My companions were beasts, the members were amazing, the ward was excited, the lunches (and sometimes dinners) were delicious, and work was moving. On my last night there, we had a family night with all of the people that I was able to help baptize here. I bore my final testimony to them, and it got super emotional. I'll truly never forget that area.

I then went to bed, and woke up like it was ground hog's day. I'm back in Bayeux! I don't know if you all remember, but Bayeux is a city and is broken up into two wards. I passed in one of those wards for five months and absolutely loved it. Now I'm in the other ward, and I don't know if I absolutely love it as much. I remember that when I was in the other ward, I saw how difficult this area and ward was, and I said that I never wanted to come here. Well, my wishes didn't exactly come true lol.

To top everything off, I'm back with one of my old companions, Elder Lamounier. He's the one that served with me in the 20 member ward with the 5kgs of lasagna. I'm really excited to be reunited with him, especially being we need to do the exact same thing in this area that we did to the last area. At church, we had three separate meetings with three different leaders asking us how we are going to double the church attendence. Right now, we have about 45 active members, and they want around 90. We gave them all of the ideas that we got, and we're excited to get going to work with them!

One of the pluses is that I already know almost everything in this ward. I've done about five exchanges in this area and about twenty baptismal interviews. I'm hoping to bring all of these recent converts that I interviewed back to church. On top of that, I already knew the bishop, and I actually argued with him a couple of times while I was in the other ward, because he wouldn't let us do activities together. But I don't think he remembers haha.

In my three days here, we were able to see and learn a couple of pretty cool things...

- One of the members pulls out her guitar and starts playing "yellow" by Coldplay. It's literally been over a year since I've heard that song!

- this area is insanely big, and my legs are super sore from walking so much.

- while walking on the side of the highway, we see that the traintracks are on fire, two police cars race by, a firetruck pulls in, and there is a helicopter about twenty feet off of the ground searching for someone. This area isn't the safest.

- There was a solar eclipyse on Saturday, and we were able to see it with absolutely burning our eyes. We were with a group of boys, and we borrowed their x-ray lense, and sunglasses to see the sun. I know that a bunch of little Brazilian children went blind Saturday, because literally all of them were just staring at the sun.

But that's it for this week! I'm going to go get a haircut right now and play some soccer. I love you all and hope you have the best week!
