One And A Half Weeks Of Work

Good morning everyone! So I'm coming back at you guys on a Monday, because we decided to switched our pday for this week. Let's just say, a mission without pdays would be nearly impossible, I'm exhausted!

I'm not gonna lie, being in the office is a different type of exhaustion. My body is totally fine, and honestly my toes are better than ever. But this work is mentally draining. Having to switch your brain everyday from bills, reports, and reinbursments to faith, repentance, and baptism is a little difficult and a little draining. It feels like I'm constantly thinking about a million things at once.

On the other side, being in the office comes with a private chef. My companion is insane in the kitchen and is cooking us meals everyday. We get to the office, he gives me a couple of things to do, and he just spends the day in the kitchen. This week he made chicken alfredo, chili, and mango chicken.

This week, I focused a ton on improving my studies every morning. Our Mission President gave us a challenge to read the entire Book of Mormon and mark everything about Jesus Christ... again. The cool thing is, I feel like I have grow to know my Savior so much more personally since the last time we did this challenge. I have come to know that through prayer and personal revelation we can do this!

1 Nephi 17:1, 3

"And the Lord did show me from time to time after what manner I should work the timbers of the ship...And I, Nephi, did go into the mount oft, and I did pray oft unto the Lord; wherefore the Lord showed unto me great things."

God works miracles and "great things" according to our faith and desire. Through prayer and desired personal revelation, we can come to know our Savior on a more personal level, and see greater miracles in our lives.

One of these great miracles that we saw this week was Mikael. Mikael is the friend of a member and is currently coming to church with us. We taught him about the Restoration, and he understood and felt the spirit testify the message. He is studying, praying, and seeking answers everyday, and he even came with us to church yesterday. We are going to need to experience a miracle to baptize him, as both of his parents are pastors, but we all have hope and faith.

Another great thing that we experienced this week was the baptism of Fellipe! Fellipe is part of a family of four getting to know the church. Fellipe has showed tremendous desire, and is helping his family live the Gospel! After his baptism, he felt so happy and so relieved!

Some other cool things that happened this week were...

- The city of is starting to decorate for Christmas, and it's totally bringing in the Christmas spirit! We are ven going to be setting up a night to go caroling hahaha.

- I am started to incorporate programming into the secretary life, and it's making me so happy, even though I forgot everything!

- We had a ward volleyball night on Friday, and some of the games were getting heating. I accidentally spiked the ball on the head of one of our friends getting to know the church.

- I learned that strawberries are like super rare here in Brazil. My comp and I looked for like an hour and a half for strawberries around the city to make the baptism cake, and we found nothing. Hopefully Fellipe liked his passion fruit cake instead.

So that it for this week! We are about to have a packed pday full of soccer and other stuff. But I hope you all have a fantastic week! I love you all!
