The Fruits Of Missionary Work

Not gonna lie. This week was tough. It was super busy inside and outside of the office. Had a million bills to pay, reports to do, people to find, and no results. I seriously feel like the more we do, the less results we get. But I'm trying not to stay negative, so I'm going to focus on the positives from this week.

Our recently baptized friend, Micael, continues to grow as a disciple of Christ. He is doing visits with us three times a week, and he has started to mark his own visits to make with us. Yesterday, Micael received both the Aaronic Priesthood and his very own temple recommend! I am so happy with all of his progress! You can't even tell anymore that his parents are pastors of another church.

This week was the first time that I have actually gotten nervous to teach an English class. We had 18 people show up to participate, and I actually felt like a real teacher. And I literally didn't know what to say because there are some who don't know how to say "hi", others who just say "the book is on the table", and others who speak English better than me. It was definitely a learning experience for sure.

The youth in this ward are helping us more than ever, and it makes me so happy! They are inviting friends to participate in lessons, helping us plan activities, and being the life of the ward! We seriously wouldn't be anything without these youth.

We are currently teaching Leticia. She is the friend of one of the youth members. Leticia had posted on social media that she had been feeling "empty" spiritually, and our member friend swooped right in with a Book of Mormon. Our first lessons with her was one of my favorite lessons on my mission. It was just a conversation about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and its effect on our lives. We brought Micael to help us, and he bore power testimony of Savior. Leticia just needs to fix her sleeping schedule and get to church. Please pray for Leticia.

We were feeling super discouraged yesterday after not being able to reach any of our goals this week, so, determined to find people to teach, we grabbed some Book of Mormons and went on the hunt. We found two inactive woman and had two really powerful lessons. In the first lesson we focused on the Plan of Salvation, and in the second, we focused on the sacrament, and it brought so much joy to my soul. God is aware of us and our desires.

That's about it for this week! Thank you guys so much for all of the love and support! I can feel all of your prayers, and I continue to pray for all of you. Have a great week!
