Mission Tour 2024
Hey so this week was a little stressful. We had our mission tour with a member of the seventy (Elder Valenzuela) this week, and nothing seemed to be going right.
Picture the scene: it's the night before the big conference, and we had about two hours to set things up. Our recent convert is shirtless and sweating, cleaning up the entire church single-handedly. The elders are testing out the microphones that just can't seem to stop staticing (if that's a word). I'm in sitting there with my toes in some warm salt water, trying to heal something that seems to be unhealable. It's getting hot, and we go to turn the AC on. It doesn't turn on. We were stressing. That was the ONE thing that President said needs to go right. We called two different maintenance teams, but they could show up until the morning. We didn't get too much sleep that night.
The next day, we got up extra early and rushed to the church, and everything a working! It was truly a miracle! A miracle until the conference started, and the microphone totally just started glitching out. But the Atonement and repentance is really, because we got thing all situated for the next conference, and it went perfectly!
Health Update: the toes got operated on again. The last operation was a total fail, and let them worse than they were. But this time, I traveled one hour in a bus to another city to get my toes done, and I can already see and feel the difference. I'm gonna be back to normal in no time!
Some things that I took out of the conferences...
- We all have a divine potential as children of God. We also have the ability to quickly transform ourselves from a "youth" in the gospel to an "adult".
- Genesis 3:9 "And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?" We need to do a self-accessment and think about if we are at the same point mentally and spiritually as we are physically.
- "confidence builds courage"
- The Lord's work is moving fast and isn't waiting for anyone. We need to work with more urgency to prepare the world to receive Jesus Christ.
There is a lot more that I learn, but I forgot my notebook in the office. sorry.
I also got to give my talk this week, and I think it went pretty decent. Had a couple of people crying, others nodding their heads, and others laughing at the man with a suit and flip-flops on.
That's about it for this week! There are super cool other stories, so reach out if you wanna hear more. But I hope that you all have the best day! Love you all!
