Packed Week

Ok, I'm sick again, so I'm going to keep this one a little short. But what's up guys! I hope you all had a fantastic week, and let's get into this. 


monday: I finished the Book of Mormon in Portuguese (that was special). I also played soccer, ping pong, and had an interview with my Mission President! The interview was amazing, and he got me super excited for my last two transfers!


tuesday: I got to work in the street all day! This is like the best feeling ever. I worked with one of my good friends, Elder Sorensen. At one point, I had to use the bathroom pretty badly, so we knocked on a bunch of doors, asking people if we could use their bathrooms. After about five rejections, we finally got let it! 


wednesday: This was an eventful day. We started by waking up early, and running to a member's house to help them with a move. After I lost in a fight to a screwdriver, we ran back home and got ready for zone conference. Zone conference was amazing, and we learned about how we could be more consecrated disciples of Jesus Christ. After zone conference, we had the baptism of Severino! Severino was so happy to make this covenant with God, and I had the privilege of confirming him as a member of the church! Also shout out to Mom for sending me new sandals! Now this work is about to get 10x faster. 


thursday: I pretty much spent the whole afternoon setting up an escape room for the ward activity. And it honestly went super well! We had a ton of members and investigators show up, and it took them all over an hour to escape the room! Pretty solid last activity in this ward!


friday: We ran a 5k in the morning to complete the mission exercise challenge of the month, and we lost two Elders on the way. This run took a big toll on my toenails, which really disappointed me. We also had Bruna's baptism! She was super happy and is literally a light to her family. She also smacked her sister in the middle of the baptismal message, but you already know that the baptismal waters washed that away pretty quickly. We also had two investigators watching the baptism that asked to be baptized next week!


saturday: I went to the toenail doctor, or whatever you call it, and they took out a bunch of ingrown toenails, and should be back to 100% for my next area. 


sunday: I woke up dead. Sore throat and body aches. But we had Stake Conference, and I couldn't miss out on that. I got to say goodbye to all of my friends and members from my ward, and I got to say what's up to all of my friends from the other wards that I've passed through. I also got to scout out some potential last wards. I then spent the rest of the day on the couch.

Okay yeah, so there really is opposition in all things. This week, Satan was working hard against our friends and even our members. Not gonna lie, I was losing a ton of faith. But in the end, we stomped on his face and baptized some of our friends! First things first, these Brazilians are convinced that rain brings all sorts of sicknesses and diseases, and they will never walk in the rain. So when it rained Sunday morning, like no one showed up to church. The attendence took a hit, and we had a family of investigators who turned around and walked home when it started raining. Please pray that the sun comes out next Sunday.  We had a couple of baptismal dates fall through this week, because of all sorts of things. One of our members told something to another family of investigators, and now the mom doesn't want to talk to us anymore. Getting On The Road Soon (Happy Easter)

What is up everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic week and a happy Easter! I literally love this holiday, and as a missionary, it's even better! It literally emcompasses everything that we teach as missionaries: the Good News. Quick thought Elder Holland talks about this "good news". He says, "The word gospel as we use it in English comes down to us through early scriptural language which meant literally “good news” or sometimes “glad tidings.” The “good news” was that death and hell could be escaped, that mistakes and sins could be overcome, that there was hope, that there was help, that the insoluble was solved, that the enemy had been conquered. The good news was that everyone’s tomb could one day be empty, that everyone’s soul could again be pure, that every child of God could again return to the Father who gave them life."
