I'm Home :)
Hey what's up guys, I'm back! After two of some of the best, most difficult and most rewarding years of my life, I'm back home with the fam! But don't think that I was going to go a week without telling you guys about the last week on my mission. It was a rollercoaster of events and emotions, so let's get right into it!
This was a week of hard goodbyes. I have come to love the people of Brazil so much, and it was so hard to have to leave them. On Sunday, the bishop asked me yet again to give a last second, 20 minute talk. So I gave a practice Homecoming talk, and many were in tears. I said goodbye and took pictures with as many as I could, and the rest marked family nights with us. We ate lunch with an amazing family, and they all started crying in the middle of lunch. It was lowkey awkward, but I felt so much love! In our last appointment on Sunday, things got emotional. The bishop invited everyone to his home, and they basically held a testimony meeting for me. The spirit was so strong that night! We then had another wave of goodbyes saying goodbye to all of my companions who were staying on the mission. And finally had to say goodbye to my very first district, which was one of the hardest goodbyes of them all. Love you guys!
To lighten the mood of the week, we had a couple of great moments and miracles!
- Severino and Graça were married after three months of stressful work and anticipation! They accomplished a dream they've had for over five years, and they're set on getting married in the temple next! We baptized Graça, and she was so happy!
- Carlinhos was baptized on Saturday after about a month of preparation! He overcame many obstacles including a coma, but in the end put all of his faith in Christ, and made the decision!
- Finally, on Sunday, Walkyria was baptized! Walkyria has been a strong member of her church for over 25 years now, but after fervent prayer, faith, and a couple of answers from God, she also decided to be baptized! She was insanely happy on her baptismal day, and she even bore her testimony and told her story after her baptism!
I am so grateful for the privilege that I had to serve the people of Joāo Pessoa, Brazil! I have come to love the people, the language, the food, the work, and most importantly, the Savior, Jesus Christ! I know, without a doubt, that everything that I've preached for the last two years is so true! And if I could do it again, I would!
I love you yall, and I'm so thankful for the love and support that you've all given me throughout this journey! Shoot me a text, and I'll tell you more about my experiences!
